An A-maze-ing Day PDF Print E-mail

South Texas Corn Maze 2009

This year's trip to the South Texas Corn Maze was a pleasant and relaxing day.  We had perfect weather, all of our groups successfully made it through the maze, and we even got to shoot corn cobs out of an air gun at targets.  We blew off a bit of steam on a big inflatable fondly referred to as "The Jumping Thing", and even Mrs. Overstreet got up and frolicked with the first graders.

Our 4 year olds teacher, Miss Ellis, has a little buddy named Shy Shyler who comes out when it is time for reading stories.  One day, we had a party and everyone got to have their own Shy Shyler to read with.  This was a very exciting opportunity.

Going Back in Time PDF Print E-mail

Dino Trip 2009

One of our spring research trips was to the Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country Association, where we investigated some genuine dinosaur tracks.  We also got to "dig" up fossils and had a picnic lunch outside on some tables in the sunshine.  We learned not only about prehistoric creatures, but also about some of the Texas Hill Country history at an antique post office exhibit and with some very old telephone technology.
